About Us
Castle Print is a commercial printing company based in Galway City, in the West of Ireland servicing a host of national and international clients.
Castle Print was established in 1985 based out of a converted greyhound stable on College Road in the heart of Galway City. From these humble beginnings, the company grew in size to a staff of five and invested in more equipment to meet the demand for the companies services. This growth involved a move to bigger premises in Liosbán Industrial Estate on the Tuam Road. This growth was to further continue over the next five years, which resulted in a further premises move in 1993 to a much larger unit in Liosbán.
From this point onwards Castle Print expanded their offering on a colour printing front with the installation of a Heidelberg MO 2 colour printing press which complimented our two 1 colour printing presses. Our staff numbers grew to 12 and our customer base grew to include some of the more recognisable businesses based in the West of Ireland.
In 2000 Castle Print recognised the market was moving towards full colour, due to this the company invested in a four colour M Offset press with Aqueous Varnish. The company also invested in CtP plate making. Castle Print was one of the first printing companies in Ireland to adopt this new technology and in 2008 installed our third generation CtP system. Digital printing was new to the industry and Castle Print adopted this technology very quickly with an investment in this area of the market in 2002.
2004 saw Castle Print invest again in new technology and equipment at a cost of €2.1 million. Included in this investment was our second generation CtP system but also a new Heidelberg Speedmaster CD74 five colour with aqueous varnish. This was one of the first of this model presses installed in the world.
With the constant changes in technology, 2006 saw Castle Print invest in digital printing once again with the installation of a new Xerox Docucolor 250 and a HP 5500 Large format UV printing press.
April 2008 saw the completion of an investment of €2.5 million in new equipment and machinery. As part of this investment Castle Print installed machinery and equipment in our pre-press, press, and post-press departments.
Due to the economic climate in Ireland from 2008, Castle Print recognised the need to diversify into new markets, - carton packaging and pharmaceutical and health care printing. Since this diversification Castle Print has won numerous large scale contracts with a number of well known brands in these sectors.
Castle Print now has a staff of 25, with three sales executives servicing a wide variety of customers across many sectors throughout Ireland and the World.
